Swap time is rounding a corner and we're going full speed ahead!!!!!!!
I could totally go for one or two more participants but we're not gonna let that falter us!!!
Right now we're swapping with 9 other women. I made 12 tags because that what we we're aiming for and though we haven't made it there yet, it's better to have extra than not enough =]

No need to fret though- If you don't have time or arent doing a second character tag you can simply make it up to you're partner by gifting them a few "Alice style" sweet treats in their package. You can do either of these just make sure it's so cute it's something you'd want to receive in the mail. Nothing to overboard-keep it simple. Maybe some lovely trinkets, or an inspirational card.

Now that that's cleared up, I know a lot of lovely ladies have a LOT of questions and that's what I'm here for so don't be afraid to ask!!!

Right now is the time I need you to contact me at le_vintage@yahoo.com and provide me with:
1. First and last name
2. Mailing address
3. Official characters you'll be working on
4. Confirmation you will be prepared by October 5.

Don't forget it doesn't matter what version of Alice you use- be creative. There's the original book, the Disney movie, the upcoming Tim Burton movie, the video game version, unique drawing and artwork and tons of other Alice and Wonderland interpretations.

Thanks for participating and don't forget to take a deep breathe and relax- this is all about the fun!

XOXO

Alice Swap Sign Ups!!!

"Should we hold hands?"

"We can't."
"But why?"
"Because, people will know."
"Know what?"

"About us."
"So what if they know?"
"It's better when it's a secret."
"Why?"
"So no one can take it from us."

Click Here! Sit Back and ENJOY!!!!

If you're signing up, here are the requirements:

1. Submit a comment on THIS post including

  • you're first and last name
  • you're email address
  • you're character of preference
  • you're two back up choices

2. Attach a copy of the Alice In Wonderland Tag Swap Image either in a post or somewhere on you're blog, along with a link to my web page; www.vintage-le.blogspot.com

3. Click the Google Adsense box above this post to help earn revenue for future swaps. Once I have a decent amount, that money will be going to shipping costs so that you only have to send you're tags to me and I use that money to ship you're tags individually for you. This helps you cut back on both time and money, all for a simple click.

4. Please keep in mind that you most likely won't get one of you're first few choices. You have the entire list to choose from, but try to pick the most creative characters you can w
ork with. If you think of a character that’s not on the list that you want to do, just send me an email at le_vintage@yahoo.com to discuss it with me, I'll most likely say yes =]

5. After you are assigned a character, do you're research!!! Take this swap seriously, and hopefully for all of us it will be flawless. This one is special and exciting with the release of the new movie debut around March 2010, so personally I am not only putting a lot of time into this one but a lot of money. Respectively, please do the same by only sending out a tag that you personally would have loved to receive.

6. Right now I am predicting you will be making roughly about 12 Tags; all themed by the classic story Alice In Wondeland by Lewis Carroll. Each tag should have the name/information of you're blog on it, but please be sure to put it on the back.

7. The deadline is Monday, October 5. ALL tags must be mailed out, and there is a zero tolerance policy on this swap. If you fail to abide by this rule, I will have to take into consideration disqualification from future swaps out of respect for the other participants. Immediately after sending out you’re tags or if something comes up, please send me an email letting me know- this is extremely important so please take the time to do so.

8. Use proper tag materials for creating you're masterpiece.

You can find these at you're local craft store for under $3. The tags should be fairly light, however that also

depends on how much you are willing to pay for shipping. Tag sizes can vary, you can make them any shape and size you'd like but make it reasonable. Often tags are a basic 4 3/4" x 2 3/8"

9. After I receive you're final confirmation email providing you're mailing address, I am going to individually send you a list of the ladies you'll be swapping tags with, including their blog information.

10. Next up- Shipping! I would suggest using a Padded Mailer Envelope to avoid damages to you're beautiful tags. Though it costs extra, you'd be so heartbroken if you're stuff arrived damaged and probably sad if someone received you're treats harmed. However as an alternative, you can make you're own. Using sturdy envelope and 2 pieces of good cardboard, you can pad it with packaging material or even some tissue paper and decorate it to you're fancy! This can even save you money.

11. Email me and provide me with you're mailing address so I can continue ke
eping my records updated and respond with any questions/ comments you may have. Feel free to contact me here or via yahoo for any reason.
And remember these two things- don't send out anything you wouldn't
want to receive, and be creative!!!!!! This post may be updated daily, assigning bloggers to characters and updating rules as people submit questions, so though it may not pop up new on the blogs you're following, try to remember to take a visit every once in a while.

* This Swap is Open to U.S. Swappers only*

Hope you guys have an amazing upcoming weekend. It's 2 am and I can't sleep...I already drank the warmest cup of raspberry tea the hubby bought me last Christmas, dreaming of my white wonderland coming up this December. We've been saving up for Oregon for years, and came across a streak of bad luck that drained the entire fund (stupid lawyers), and then my 8 months stunt without work, but now we're trying to get back on track and waiting for an opportunity for him to transfer to arrive. So I took this insomnia opportunity to write up the rules for you. It's been these sleepless nights for weeks now, and the doctor prescribed me something but it's not putting me to sleep. Hmmm I'm not sure what else to try, suggestions!

  • Jabberwok
Yes, that is a list of the psychedelic characters that were written by Charles Lutwidge Dodgson under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll in 1985. I think I may have even missed a few! Unknown to some people, there are 2 versions of Alice's Adventures In Wonderland, one called Alice's Adventure Underground, and a sequel called Through the Looking Glass and what Alice found there.

Although Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum, Humpty Dumpty, and The Jabberwok only appear in the sequel, "Through the Looking Glass" we will ignore that for Disney's sake. And don't confuse The Queen of Hearts with the Red Queen, who appears in the second novel.

Were doing this swap one of two ways-
The first choice is each participant makes a tag for each character and ships all 12 off to a partner who did the same.

Pro: Saves money on shipping
Con: All you're tags are from one person

The second option is to do it the same style as the Marie one, where you make 10 different tags from picking 10 different Alice characters, and send them off after I match you with corrosponding partners.

Pro: A plethora of creativity and different styles
Con: Shipping prices

If you're interested in the swap leave a comment here saying number 1 or number 2 on how you want to do the swap and include you're email address.

After the results of that there will be one more post including rules, information, answering questions, and allowing more people to sign up. Don't worry, you'll have plenty of time to prepare for the swap, and here's the banner so put it up on you're blog and let's get this swap going!!!!!

Alice in Wonderland

Hey ladies,

I'm preparing for our next swap, and as you may already have heard the winner is---- Alice in Wonderland!!!!

Now, for this swap I want to try something totally different, and I'd love everyone's advice, feedback and suggestions. What I'm thinking is having each participant pick 4 characters. One should be Alice, another The Queen Of Hearts, and the third the Mad Hatter. The last one is optional, you can either make a Tweedle Dee/Tweedle Dum, Chesire Cat, or White Rabbit Tag for the last one.

What I am thinking is you make 3 of each tag character, a total of 12 tags. You'd send each one to a different participant, but still swapping Alice for an Alice or a white rabbit for a white rabbit. By the end you'll have 3 different interpretations of Alice and 3 unique designed cards.

One of the fun parts is that you can either use images from the original 1951 Lewis Carroll illustrated novel, one of my personal favorites, perfect for a vintage antique touch.
Or, a classic image of what most of us think of when you think Alice, the Disney version!
And as I announced in one of my previous posts, I know we are all looking forward to Tim Burtons release of the new live Alice In Wonderland!
It's very limited image wise however, so don't get too sucked into the excitement.
Or you can use any other images you find online that you think creatively displays the essence of Alice in Wonderland. Have you ever heard of the video game "Alice" by American McGee's Alice, a dark and sinister twist on the classic story.
Let me know what you think...I know it's such a work in progress. But I'd just love to know what you think, because I want everyone to get a taste of every character from tons of different swappers.

Once again, Not sign ups. I will be posting those hopefully on the next post, which makes this one all the more important!!!

I hope you ladies have an amazing incredible week and I look forward to each and every comment you girls leave me!!!!

I'm estimating about 3 weekes to do these, because we are all so busy in the summer. If you are interested at all in this swap please leave a comment letting me know, the more I get here the more I can prepare for the swap.

p.s. PLEASE TELL YOU'RE FRIENDS!!! THIS SWAP IS GOING TO BE ONE OF A KIND!!!!
